Biography of Lena Morena:
Dancer, dance instructor, choreographer, German champion in Kizomba (2014)
My passion: KIZOMBA, SEMBA, AFRO and Salsa Cubana!
Certified KIZOMBA – SEMBA – AFRO instructor
Rhythm, music and dance determine my life! I attended a music school from the age of 6 and amongst other things learned to play the piano.
The musical knowledge I acquired in this way gave me a significant advantage in terms of rhythm and understanding of music. My love for salsa started in 2004.
In 2008, it happened to me: Kizomba captured my heart! I felt in love immediately!
My soul had found its home!
For me,
salsa (music and dance) is the expression of pure joie de vivre!
You can switch off and let yourself go!
Just have fun!
Addicted to these sounds and movements, I threw myself inquisitively into class and the salsa party world.
In doing so, I learned the steps and movements of women and the leading of men from the start.
My dance training began in the salsa dance schools in Augsburg and Munich.
There I got a good foundation in the two salsa dance styles (Salsa – Linear and Salsa Cubana), Merengue and Bachata and gained my first performance and teaching experience.
In other courses, workshops and private lessons at home and abroad with renowned teachers from Cuba such as Israel Gutierrez, Maykel Fonts, Kirenia Cantin, Ibert Vazquez Moreno, Diana Rodriguez and Fabrizio Micciche (Italy), Marion Morena (Germany), Mimo (Germany) , Super Mario (UK) etc. I developped myself and got new influences.
My salsa dance style was also shaped by my training as an oriental dancer .
After all, I was very well prepared for my activities as a dance instructor in private lessons in dance didactics .
With my other great teachers from Cuba like Orlando “Papi” Alfonso, Noydee Fonsecca, Beamiris Rodriguez, Yorgenis Danger, Barbara Balbuena, Chiqui Dixon and Mike Agbevenou (Togo) I also learned Son, Cha Cha, Mambo, Afro (Orishas) and Rumba Cubana (Yambu, Guaguanco, Columbia).
In 2008 during a trip to Madrid I discovered the Kizomba in a salsa club … and it was love at the first note!
Since then, this music and this dance have captivated me.
Step by step I followed this passion.
The many festivals were followed by countless trips to Lisbon, private lessons and teacher training.
In countless private lessons and various teacher training courses with Petchu and Vanessa (Angola), Dilson and Bernadeth (Angola), Cazuza (Angola) , Lucia (Portugal), Jose N’dongala (Angola) and many others, I learned Kizomba, Semba and Afro Tribal, and gladly pass on my knowledge.
I received my final teacher training in Belgium from Jose N’Dongala and teach according to his method: “Teaching Method: “José N’dongala Kizombalove Methodology”.
This method enables you to learn Kizomba and Semba quickly and in a structured manner.
The countless trips to Lisbon, the teacher training courses and the many interesting conversations with my teachers have shown me a lot about Angolan culture, music and dance.
Today I pass on my knowledge to my students with joy, perfection and a lot of patience.
In 2014 I took part and won the German championship in Kizomba at the “Africadancar Germany 2014” contest, which was held in Germany for the first time.
In May 2014 we were allowed to represent at the World Cup in Milan, Germany and made it to the finals.
Participating in this competition has not only enriched me with dance experiences, but also with many new friendships among the participants!
In addition to the courses and workshops, I also organize a regular Kizomba evening “KIZOMBADA”.
There my students can practice and get to know other dancers or Kizomba explorers.
Everyone is welcome.
These evenings take place:
every Thursday
Since 2009 I have been passing on my knowledge and skills in salsa and since 2012 in Kizomba with joy and passion to my students.
I lead various dance courses (Afro / Semba / Kizomba / Tarraxinha, Salsa / Merengue / Bachata and Salsa Lady Styling and Ginga Body movements) in Augsburg and the surrounding area .
