Anya and Phil have been teaching Kizomba since Oct. 2016 in Essen Germany. Their path in dance and music started much earlier though. Phil used to attend reggae and dancehall festivals from a very early age due to his mother, who loved
to take him to this cultural events so that he could enjoy the music and dance.
He so quicly developed his musical ear and started practising music during his youth time.
Anya was for a period over five years a very passionate salsa dancer before she descovered Kizomba.
In October 2016 they started teaching their first Kizomba Beginners Class.
Being diligent and hard working they wanted to provide a high quality of teaching to their students so they started to work on their Kizomba and Semba Skills as Dancers as well as Teachers. Firstly they attended the Teachers Course by Fantastic Four (Miguel, Susana, Paulo and Lanna) where they could gain an introduction to the cultural importance of Kizomba and Semba in Angola.
They have deepen their knowledge by attending the four levels of the Teachers Course under the guidance of Jose N'dongala Kizombalove as well as Frans and Sarah Kizombalove. There they could achieve strong foundations in their didactics. They are able to recognize what and when a student needs
and provide him/her with acurate feedback according to the Teaching Method: ''Jose N'dongala Kizombalove Methodology''.
In order to practice and gain in depth knowledge about Ginga and to specialize on Ladies needs in class Anya attended the two Levels of Ginga Art Teaching Course organized by Vanessa Ginga Pura.
Their perseverence and wish to learn the Angolan cultural heritage has led them to a short trip to Luanda. There they enjoyed some deep insight into the African dance and music as well as cousine and traditions.
They love what they do and will continue sharing their Kizombalove in Essen. If you want to join this beautiful community just come around and enjoy the positive vibes.
